Confidentiality, BACP and Fees

Confidentiality

Counselling is confidential. Sometimes you may wish to let someone know you are seeing a counsellor but that is your decision.

I will never telephone you unless you are happy for me to do so or acknowledge you outside of the counselling room unless you feel comfortable with that.

Confidentiality may be broken is if I feel either you or someone else may be in danger, if possible I will try to discuss this with you first. We will discuss this in the frst session in full and you will be given a copy of that working agrement in writing.

I keep some short notes in line with current legislation (please see Privacy Policy). They are for my personal use only and do not contain your name or identifiable details. Your personal details are kept securely and separately.

I keep the notes for three years should you wish to return to see me, at that point they are destroyed, in line with current legislation.

British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy

The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy is a professional association for Counsellors.

To become an Accredited member you need to have satisfied a number of criteria such as sufficient training to a high standard, and a number of years in practice.

As a Senior Accredited member of the BACP I am bound by its Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy and subject to the professional conduct procedure therein.

Should you wish to find me on the BACP web site please follow the link below and click on 'search for a therapist', or for further information on counselling please also go to www bacp.co.uk

I am also a registered counsellor on the BACP Register.

Fees and Session Times

The fee for Counselling is £45 per session (Individuals and Couples), sessions are one hour in length.

During the first session we will spend some time on what you would like to gain from counselling and how we can work together. There is also a chance for us to decide if you feel you can benefit from this work and there is no obligation for further sessions. It is important that you find a therapist with whom you feel comfortable.

I will offer you an appointment as soon as I can to fit in with the time and day we are both available. This can be almost immediately, but usually within the week.

If you are a trainee counsellor looking for therapy please feel free to contact me to discuss terms for the discounted rate
