Cost, Confidentiality & Professional Memberships

Confidentiality

Counselling is confidential. Sometimes you may wish to let someone know you are seeing a counsellor but that is your decision.

I will never telephone you unless you are happy for me to do so or acknowledge you outside of the counselling room unless you feel comfortable with that.

Confidentiality may be broken if I feel either you or someone else may be in danger, if possible I will try to discuss this with you first. We will discuss this in the frst session in full and you will be given a copy of that working agrement in writing.

I keep some short notes in line with current legislation (please see Privacy Policy). They are for my personal use and do not contain your name or identifiable details. Your personal details are kept securely and separately.

I keep the notes for three years, at that point they are destroyed.

Costs and Session Times

The fee for Counselling is-

Face to face, Online/Phone or Walk & Talk

Fee is per hourly session

Individuals (age 18+)  £60

Relationship Counselling  £75

Military

Individuals £55 Couples £70

Employee Assistance Programmes £70

Student Counsellors  Please feel free to contact me for availability

Individual Sessions are 60 minutes long as I feel that we need that time together and not a 'therapeutic hour' which is 50 minutes long.

Relationship Therapy If you feel you would both benefit from a longer session this is available for £100 for one and a half hours.

During the first session we will spend time discussing what you would like to talk about, what you would like to gain from counselling and how we can work together. There is also a chance for us to decide if you feel you can benefit from this work and there is no obligation for further sessions. It is important that you find a therapist with whom you feel comfortable.

I will offer you an appointment as soon as I can to fit in with the time and day we are both available. This can be almost immediately, or within a couple of weeks.

If you are a Student Counsellor looking for therapy please feel free to get in touch, I would be delighted to hear from you and happy to talk through your requirements. As well as answer any questions you may have.
