East Devon Counselling Service
East Devon Counselling Service

`I am a BACP Registered and Senior Accredited Counsellor and Accredited Supervisor (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) with a Diploma in Counselling from Relate Training.

I have also trained with the Centre for Adolescent Rehabilitation and studied Neuro Linguistic Programming with 'Active Personal Development'.

I offer Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and studied with the Oxford Cognitive Therapy Centre.

I trained with ADVA (Against Domestic Violence and Abuse) in Devon and work frequently with survivors of domestic abuse, together with past work with Devon Rape Crisis service www.devonrapecrisis.org.uk and with the Exeter Sexual Assault Referral Centre (NHS).

I am a Lecturer in Counselling at Exeter College and to see details of the courses run there please follow this link www.exe-coll.ac.uk

Working as a counsellor in a GP surgery, and also in a local Health Centre has provided me with the opportunity of counselling a wide range of people with a variety of issues. I have also worked with young people at a local Secondary school.

My Private practice is based in Exmouth, East Devon.

I work with adults both individuals and couples and I also offer group therapy and training together with work with people with issues surrounding food. I have done some work with BEAT (eating disorders association) and train other therapists in this area. I am also an LGBT affirmative Therapist.

I am also employed by a number of Employee Assistance Programmes and so it may be possible to contact me through your workplace who may then pay for any counselling.

I use a variety of approaches tailored to each individual to help improve their ability to cope with their difficulties. I also teach skills and practical ways of dealing with situations. An example of this would be how to prevent panic attacks returning once someone has eliminated them.

I am a Registered and Accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and am bound by its Ethical Framework for Good practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy and subject to the professional conduct procedure therein, and my details can be found on their website at www.bacp.co.uk

The BACP Register can also be checked on www.bacpregister.org.u k where you will find confirmation of my registration
